Preview for today's FIFA World Cup Quarter Finals.

1. Brazil Vs Colombia.

This is an epic clash and I can't miss this game for anything in the world. This is a battle of two teams with different footballing philosophy. A team of two talismen ; Neymar Jr. and James Rodriguez. Between the two players they have plundered 9 goals into the oppositions net. Neymar has 4 goals with one assist while James Rodriguez has 5 goals with 4 assists. Brazil has not set the tournament alight and alot of pundits are not happy with their performances and it has led head coach Felipe Scolari to leap to the defense of his team. Brazil like to dominate possession while Colombia sits back and attack with venom. Colombia has a balanced team with good players they can call upon and this makes their encounter with Brazil tantalizing. Brazil has a good defense and midfield but the headache they have now is their forward line. Their strikers such as Fred and Jo have flattered to deceive and that leaves the whole responsibility to Neymar to carry the forward line. It would be a close match and it would be determined by small details. Both set of fans are vociferous and demanding too so it would be nice to see how they cheer their teams to victory. For Brazil to win this game then they most improve drastically otherwise they would cry and reminisce about the 1950 world cup which brought nothing but sadness. Neymar is an injury doubt but doctors are working around the clock to ensure that becomes fit for today's game.

My prediction. Brazil 1- 2 Colombia.

2. Germany vs France

This is another continental clash -all European affair and would be another tasty clash with alot of history attached to it.Everyone is talking about the Spain 1982 world cup clash between Germany and France which was played in Seville. It was a classic match which was filled with controversy too. After a grueling 3-3 draw after 90 mins the match was decided through penalties which the Germans won. However, German goal keeper Harold Schumacher claimed headlines for the wrong reasons. He rushed out of his goal post and kicked high into French attacker Patrick Battisson which left the Frenchman unconscious. The goal keeper was given a yellow card instead of a red card and it caused a massive media uproar all over the world. Due to that history it makes today's encounter another feisty and entertaining game to look up to. The two blew us away with their attacking play in the group stages, the French scored 8 goals in the group stages while the Germans managed 7.However, Germany have not impressed a lot in the tournament apart from their first game with Portugal which they won 4-0.The Germans struggled against Ghana, dominated against USA and struggled again against Algeria. The French however found themselves in a group in which every football connoisseur tipped them to win and they obliged delightfully. The French struggled to break the Nigerian team down and their problem is their profligacy in front of goal. The Germans defense is apparently weak and for them to win that game Joachim Low must get his tactics right and shuffle his defensive pack. The French must also drop Olivier Giroud and go with Karim Benzema as the center forward striker while he is supported by Griezmann and Mathieu Valbuena. It would be a game the Germans will dominate but they must up their defense because the French has got pace and power which can hurt them. It would be a close match and I see France progressing.

My prediction. Germany 2- 3 France.
