French footballer Eric Abidal has left Monaco eventhough he signed a new one year deal with the French club. He signed a one year deal with Olympiakos but a lot of factors may have contributed to his departure from Monaco. The inability of Monaco not signing his former Barca team-mate Victor Valdés due to injury and Frenchman, Christian Karembeu's position as Director of football at Olympiakos all played a part in his departure.
