A lot of coaches have resigned from their posts after elimination from the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil and I bring you the list. Enjoy...
1. Cesare Prandelli.
The former Fiorentina manager took over the Italian national team in 2010 after the national team's poor performance in South Africa. He raised expectations by guiding the team to second place in EURO 2012 and a third place at the 2013 FIFA Confederation Cup. Due to these performances a lot was expected from the Italian national team at this year's world cup but they disappointed their fans. Italy is well known for it's pragmatic style of play but Prandelli improved their style of play and built his team around Mario Balotelli but the whole team disappointed with their shocking performances against Costa Rica and Uruguay. After his team's elimination he resigned from his post inorder to concentrate on club football. In my own opinion he tried for the national team but his decision making let him down since he dropped players that would have let their hearts on the field for him.
2. Alberto Zaccheroni.
Another Italian coach that flattered to deceive was Alberto Zaccheroni. Since taking over the Samurai Blues in late 2010 much was expected from the Japanese national team at this year's world cup. Zaccheroni started on a good note since he led the team to win the 2011 Asian Cup. Under his tutelage players such as Shinji Kagawa, Utso Uchida, Shinji Okazaki, Yuto Nagatomo took their games to another level since they played for top notch teams in Europe. Japan was drawn in a group in which a lot of pundits expected them to sail through but they disappointed. Japan had a good team and I do not know what they came up short with that led to their premature world cup campaign. I think he got his tactics wrong and alot of his top stars such as Shinji Kagawa and Keisuke Honda didn't bring their A game to the tournament. He resigned after his team failed to qualify from a group that had Colombia, Cote D'ivoire and Greece.
3. Sabri Lamouchi.
French coach Sabri Lamouchi guided Cote D'ivoire to the world cup after beating Senegal to the spot after a nervy encounter with the Teranga Lions during the second leg of the qualifying stages. Much have been expected from the Ivorians golden generation but they failed when much was needed from them. They were drawn in a group they could have qualified from easily but they disappointed. A lot of people questioned the credibility and skills of Lamouchi even before he took the team to the world cup. Lamouchi it must be noted has not coached a top national team before so a lot of questions were asked if he could handle the big egos in the team. Cote D'ivoire has a lot of problems such as an aging squad, egotistical players and a poor coach and that were the reasons why they failed. During the world cup they won their first game against Japan, lowered their performance against Colombia and failed to kill off the game against Greece. Lamouchi resigned from his post after another inconsistent performance from Cote D'ivoire.
