Belgium punishes USA and qualifies for quarter finals

Belgium defeated USA in a nerve wrecking encounter this evening in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The match was intense and filled with a lot of end to end activities. The player that caught the eye and was voted man of the match was Tim Howard, who set a FIFA world cup record by making 15 saves in a single game. Young Belgian forward Divock Origi, 19, also impressed with his attacking play.

The match was decided in extra time.Belgium took the lead through ex-Chelsea man Kevin de Bruyne who capitalized on a Romelu Lukaku pass. Belgium increased their lead when Lukaku again scored the second goal of the game. In the second half of extra time young American forward Julian Green who plays for Bayern Munich reduced the deficit to 2-1. The Belgian held on for the rest of the match and will now meet Argentina in the next round.
