Argentina overcame Switzerland by a slim scoreline 1-0. Angel di Maria was the hero but he has Messi to thank after the Barcelona superstar capitalized on a mistake by Stephan Liechsteiner to lay a pass for Di Maria to score. It was an entertaining game and the Swiss must be given credit for their effort and they were unlucky not to draw parity after Blerim Dzemaili's head crashed the post.

With this victory Argentina meets either Belgium or USA in the quarter finals.
